James White was a 4th round pick in 2014 out of Wisconsin. He's 24 years old, 5'9 200 lbs. And he seems to be invisible when he catches the ball out of the backfield. The last thing I remember about White from 2015 was him chasing down 16 targets in the conference championship games last year against Denver.
In case you missed it, from week 10 on White did quite a bit out of the Patriots backfield.

What we've seen in the pre-season so far doesn't suggest much will change. Game script early on and his repoire with fellow second string quarterback Garoppolo should provide many opportunities for White while the team awaits Dion Lewis' return.
I had Dion Lewis ranked as my #8 overall PPR running back this year so I have very on board with the Patriots offense and the usage of their pass catching back. I don't think White has the same potential as Lewis, but I definitely think he will play a major role in fantasy teams success early in the year. I highly suggest passing on a Gio Bernard in the 5th round and wait for TJ Yeldon - Bilal Powell - James White.
